Though they claim to offer the “world’s worst coffee,” this couldn’t be farther from the truth.

Pigeon Espresso Bar is one of Montreal’s newest cafes.

Located on de Maisonneuve near the corner of Rue Bishop, Pigeon is a tiny coffee shop boasting the classics: americanos, lattes, cappuccinos, tea, filter coffee, and hot chocolate (in addition to the oatmeal and home baked pastries that sit on the counter).

Though the menu might seem simple, the beverages and quick bites are nothing short of tasty.

However, even better than the coffee might be this downtown espresso bar’s decor. Perfect for the photographers out there, Pigeon Espresso bar has all the makings of an Insta-worthy location. We’re talking about greenery, neon signs, and cutesy wall tiles.

As soon you as enter Pigeon Espresso Bar’s snug interior, you’ll immediately be face to face with a neon sign in the shape of a pigeon, a white wall with the word ‘worst’ spelled out in black tile, and a ceiling covered in all sorts of fauna, from succulents to ferns.

Though this is really meant as a takeout spot (there are no WiFi or tables, just a slim bar with stools), it’s a must on any Montreal cafe crawl.
