Runners from around the world will be able to participate in this summer’s SeaWheeze Half Marathon — without having to fly into Vancouver.

The annual race is hosted by Lululemon and has been made famous for its beautiful views, awesome perks…and exclusivity in registering.

Organizers have had to implement a lottery system over the past few years to ensure that registration remained fair given the sheer number of runners hoping to participate.

If there’s one silver lining out of the entire COVID-19 pandemic, it’s that runners from all over the world will get to participate in this year’s virtual SeaWheeze Half Marathon.

This is actually the second year that the virtual version of the Vancouver-based event is being held, as it was kicked off last year alongside the on-location race.

This year’s virtual SeaWheeze Half Marathon will be held between August 15 and 23 and can be completed wherever there’s enough room for you to run 21.1 km (even if that’s on a treadmill).

There is no cap for the number of participants for the virtual race, according to a release from Lululemon, so you’ll be saved the stress and uncertainty of the usual sign up system.

Registration costs $28US to sign up and can be done any time between now and August 23 — the last eligible day to run 21.1 km in a single effort recorded on the Strava app.

Once completed, participants will be send official SeaWheeze finisher medals straight to their doors.

A 14-week training program has also been created by Lululemon ambassador Rob Watson to help registered participants get ready for race day.

Registration is available online.
