IHOP admits they lied to us all and the Internet is still mad

When IHOP first announced they were changing their name to IHOb (International House of Burgers) their patrons, the internet, and their competitors went in on the iconic pancake chain.

Now just over one month later on July 9, IHOP admitted what we already know; that the name change was a promotional stunt to put their new line of burgers in the spotlight.

The American chain announced this betrayal via Twitter, and while most people were extremely relieved to learn it was a temporary switch, many were still angry.

Despite their relief to learn the name wasn’t changing forever, some burger lovers asked that burning question we were all thinking.

The answer is yes, both burgers and pancakes will be left on IHOP’s menu.
Looks like they can coexist under one house of burger-pancake roof from now on.

Groundbreaking – we know.

Please note that Daily Hive has confirmed the 60-cent pancake deal is a promotion that is only available at US locations.
