After launching their first Canadian Accelerator earlier in the year, Google for Startups has announced Accelerator for Women Founders, the first-ever Google program aimed at assisting and providing resources for women-founded technology startups.

“The accelerator program is designed to bring the best of Google’s programs, products, people and technology to women founder communities across the region,” reads the Google for Startups page. “In addition to mentorship and technical project support, the accelerator also includes deep dives and workshops focused on machine learning, product design, customer acquisition and leadership development.”

Google says that 10 to 12 applicants will be chosen to participate in the program, which is set to take place from September 28 to December 4. Benefits of the program include personalized mentorship from Google leaders alongside hands-on technical support, multiple bootcamps, and equity-free support.

“We are committed to supporting the startup community in North America, and we’re thrilled to bring an additional offering to the Canadian startup ecosystem. Part of our focus is to create opportunity for diverse communities,” says Ashley Francisco, head of Startup Developer Ecosystem for Google Canada. “We’ll use the best of Google’s people, network and advanced technologies to help women founders build and scale successful products and businesses, and bridge the gap between men and women in the startup ecosystem.”

Applications and submissions are officially open for all Canadian and US female-led startups, and the deadline to apply is July 22. For more information on what the program provides and how to apply, check out the Accelerators for Women Founders information page.
