Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s top advisor and long-time friend has resigned after allegations the Prime Minister’s Office interfered to prevent criminal prosecution of SNC-Lavalin.

Also on Monday, NDP Leader Jagmeet Singh called for an independent inquiry into the Trudeau scandal and whether the PMO put pressure on Jody Wilson Raybould to drop charges against the multi-billion dollar corporation.
“Canadians deserve to know if their government is working for them or for a massive corporation with deep ties to the Liberal Party,” Singh said.
