Free outdoor movies are coming to downtown Montreal this summer

While Cine-Parc’s beloved drive-in movie theatre is set to make its return in the coming weeks, there still a few moviegoers who will find that commute to be a little too far for their liking.

Luckily, an alternative presents itself, one that will take no more than a short metro ride – or a beautiful evening walk in downtown Montreal, if you prefer.

Free movie nights are returning to Hochelaga this June and they’ll be back every week for the entire summer. The parking lot of the Dairy Queen in St. Catherine’s St. East will be transformed into an outdoor, walk-in movie theatre.

All that viewers need to do is bring their own folding chair (or any form of seating), a blanket or jacket, and any snacks they prefer. Complimentary popcorn will be offered on-site at the events.

Or, of course, there is Dairy Queen.

Participants are urged to bring their own form of seating as no seats will be provided by organizers or available on-site. The films are to be decided and take place every Friday from June 29 to August 17.
