Ford has issued a recall on 2013-16 Ford Fusion and 2013-14 Ford Escape vehicles. The recall applies to 539,401 vehicles in North America, including 36,887 in Canada.

The affect vehicles include:
Ford said it is not aware of any accidents or injuries related to this condition. Dealers will replace the shifter cable bushing at no cost to the customer. Owners are instructed to use their parking brake.
