FedEx is closing all of its Canadian retail Office operations.

The company has confirmed to Daily Hive that all 24 centres, including the manufacturing plant and head office in Toronto, will be affected. The decision impacts 214 Canadian employees.

“The decision to discontinue FedEx Office operations in Canada was difficult as we’ve enjoyed a 32-year relationship with our Team Members and customers in Canada,” said a statement by the company. “We reached the decision to exit the Canadian market after thoughtful evaluations of our business operations and considerations about our future.”

The company thanked its team members, and said it remains committed to Canada and ready to serve customers’ shipping needs, adding that this decision “only impacts FedEx Office Canada locations and services.”

Centre closures will begin in August, and will continue in the months thereafter based upon lease negotiations.

*Editor’s Note: The title of this article has been updated to make it more clear. The original title had failed to include that it is the retail offices that are being closed. As stated in the article, FedEx will continue to ship in Canada despite these closures.
