Coors Seltzer calls on Canadians to skip the shower for Earth Day

With Earth Day on the horizon, Coors Seltzer is making it easier than ever for Canadians and organizations to ‘volunteer’ for a worthy cause.

On a mission to help protect Canada’s waters, the new beverage brand is calling on Canadians to skip their showers on April 22 so that they can confidently keep their video conference cameras off all day. So… what do cameras off and a hard seltzer brand have to do with protecting water?

Well, with Zoom fatigue at its peak and the pressures of always having to be camera-ready in the comfort of your own home, the call-to-action is a no-brainer for individuals and companies looking to do their part on Earth Day.

Skipping the shower and going “cameras off” means giving employees a break from the demands of work-from-home life while giving our precious waterways a much-needed break from the 100 litres of water used — on average — during our morning hygiene routines.

Every 12-pack* of Coors Seltzer also helps restore 1,000 litres of Canada’s waters through a partnership with Change the Course. So, if you choose to sip on some Coors Seltzer off camera during an afternoon meeting, you’ll be doing double-duty for the waters — you hero, you.

“Molson Coors Beverage Company is all in and encouraging employees nationwide to skip the shower on Earth Day and raise a Coors Seltzer to a camera-free workday,” says Ava Gladman, Brand Manager, Coors Seltzer. “We invite others to take part in this super-easy pledge and embrace the comforts of working from home because bedhead is perfectly OK if you’re doing it for Canada’s waters.”

So, basically, taking the pledge for Earth Day is just one shower-free, hard-seltzer-sipping-day away — all in the name of showing our planet some love. Now, we’ll cheers to that!

Brand new to the Canadian market, Coors Seltzer is all about making it accessible (and fun) for consumers to do environmental good by purchasing from its lineup of refreshing flavours, which includes black cherry, mango, lemon lime, and grapefruit.

“Many people want to volunteer and give back, but it can be difficult to find the time to make that happen,” says Ava Gladman. “We want to help Canadians roll up their sleeves and do good from behind their computer screens, all while enjoying peak comfort and refreshment.”

This Earth Day, it’s time to embrace the benefits of working from home by raising a can of tasty Coors Seltzer to untamed hair and pajamas. Oh, and if your boss asks: you’re not camera-shy, you’re a volunteer.

Leading up to Earth Day, you (and your friends and fam) can take the pledge to go shower-free and cameras off. By sharing one of Coors Seltzer’s volunteer pledge posts on your Instagram story — tagging @CoorsLightCanada and using the #CoorsSeltzerVolunteer — you’ll receive a Coors Seltzer gift to cheers to all of your hard work. Talk about a win-win.
