Canada ranked 3rd best country in the world

Canadians officially have the right to brag.

Canada has been ranked as the third best country globally, according to the 2019 Best Countries report by US News & World Report, Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, and Y&R’s BAV Consulting.

The number three ranking is out of a list of 80 countries, and Canada only trails behind Switzerland and Japan.

Canada did drop one spot from last year’s ranking, when it came in second. But we did manage to hold onto top spot in the world for Quality of Life for the 4th year in a row!

The report notes that Millennials rank Canada as the best country overall, viewing its business environment and citizenship favourably.

Japan has moved up three spots from 2019. According to the report, Japan earned high marks for “entrepreneurship and being forward-looking.”

The 2019 Best Countries report and rankings are based on how global perceptions define countries in terms of a number of qualitative characteristics, impressions that have the potential to drive trade, travel and investment and directly affect national economies.

Eighty countries were measured in this year’s report.
