Celebrated in more than 193 countries, Earth Day connects over a billion people to inspire them to make a difference and share their conservation efforts through photos and conversation.

Instagram gives people a way to capture and share the world’s moments – and it’s quickly become a platform for people to connect, discover and learn more about the environment and conservationism by sharing their passion through photos.

Here in Canada, we are fortunate to have amazing Instagrammers sharing breathtaking photos of our country’s beautiful scenery and wildlife, while ensuring we learn more about our natural environment.

Paul Nicken is a photojournalist for National Geographic who captures some truly stunning shots of wildlife around the world.

The Kermode bear on the left is well known by the Gitga’at First Nations of #BC as Boss. He has this name for the dominance he holds over this river. He has wowed many viewers on this sacred stretch of coast. However, on this day, five years ago, the stocky black bear male on the right dethroned boss from his favorite fishing spot. It was great to see Boss again this year, looking slightly older and a little more battle worn but still healthy, beautiful and strong. #bear #nature #naturelovers #explore #love #beauty

Responsible for safeguarding our natural environment, Environment and Climate Change Canada also have a nice side gig producing one of the best Instagram feeds around.

A bunch of ‘bous Deer 🦌 seen by biologists while travelling the Tibbitt to Contwoyto Winter Road to do station maintenance on song recorders. Not only do the Automated Recording Units capture bird calls, but they also record the sounds of caribou, moose, bears and other wildlife!
