Get ready for more snow, Montreal.
Environment Canada has issued a special winter weather statement for Montreal and surrounding areas.
“A storm system developing over the Great Lakes will track along the East Coast on Tuesday and reach the Gaspé Peninsula on Wednesday. It will give snowfall amounts of 10 to 15 cm between Tuesday morning and Wednesday morning. Although below the warning criteria of 15 cm in 12 hours, snowfall is expected to cause significant issues,” said the statement.
The warning is in effect for the following areas:
- Châteauguay – La Prairie area
- Laval area
- Longueuil – Varennes area
- Montréal Island area
According to Environment Canada’s weather forecast for the week, the snow is expected to ease off on Thursday and sunny skies will make an appearance until the weekend.
But until then, get out your winter gear because you’ll definitely need it.
