Uber Eats to launch local liquor store delivery in Calgary and Edmonton

Uber Eats is officially launching local liquor store delivery in two major Alberta cities, and just in time for the holiday weekend, too.

The delivery app now offers people in Calgary and Edmonton the option to have beer, wine, and spirits sent from their local liquor store straight to their door.

Uber Eats has implemented new processes and in-app steps to help support customers and delivery people in the responsible delivery of alcohol, including IDing and birthdate verification.

“With delivery shifting from a luxury to a utility during these challenging times, Uber Eats is partnering with Calgary and Edmonton-based liquor stores to offer wine, beer, and spirits for delivery,” says Lola Kassim, General Manager of Uber Eats Canada.

“Whether for Thanksgiving dinner or even a date-night-in, Calgarians and Edmontonians can now have alcohol delivered right to their door when they order through Uber Eats.”

So there you have it, no more last-minute liquor store runs required. Cheers to that!
