Record-high temperatures set in 19 areas across Alberta on March 18

This Saturday marks the first day of spring, and it appears that Alberta got the memo.

Data from Environment Canada shows that record-high temperatures were set across the province on Thursday, reaching over 18°C in several areas.

There were 19 different communities that experience record-breaking temperatures, with Taber seeing the warmest high at 19.3°C. This just barely broke the town’s previous record from 2017, which was 19.2°C.

Edmonton beat its 1988 record of 12.9°C with a new high of 14.1°C.

While Calgary didn’t set any records on Thursday, the city was still unseasonably warm with a high of 16.1°C at 4 pm.
