Ski or snowboard at Mount Norquay for less than $20 on these select days

If the only thing keeping you off the slopes is that new-found resolution to spend less money in 2020, we’ve got some good news for you.

Mount Norquay is choosing a special day each month when you can go skiing or snowboarding for as little as $20.

Cool2CarPool Day introduces a new pay structure, with each carload costing just $89 — which means that if you can fit five friends into a five-seat sedan, you’ll all be riding for less than $20 each. That price will drop even lower if any of your pals (or their parents) happen to drive a minivan.

(Do keep in mind that everyone in the vehicle has to be legally seated, and payment must be made all at once for all lift tickets.)

Anyone who takes the free shuttle in from Banff will also get to hit the slopes for just $20, though it’s encouraged to start the day early as space is limited.

If you happen to scrounge up a bit more green while hunting down cash in the couch, the mountain will also be accepting cash donations that go towards local charities within the Bow Valley and Calgary area, and $2 from every lift ticket will be automatically donated.

The next Cool2CarPool Day will be on Wednesday, December 18. If you happen to miss the discount, you can also swing by Mount Norquay for a few inexpensive runs on January 8, February 12, March 11, and April 8.

Conditions currently show a snow base of 52 cm and a year-to-date snowfall of 153 cm.

Six out of six lifts are open, along with the tube park and 36 out of 60 runs.

It’s definitely not a bad way to spend a Wednesday, but just make sure you get there early in case anyone else gets the same smart idea.

Here are the charities that Mount Norquay is partnering up with for each Cool2Carpool day this season:

December 18 – Santa’s Anonymous
January 8 – Bow Valley SPCA
February 12 – CJ92 Kids Fund
March  11 – Wellsprings Canada
April  8 – Canmore Illusions Gymnastics Club
