Campers, take note – Alberta Parks reservations for the 2021 camping season open next week.

Some sites can be booked starting on March 4, and they filled up quickly last year, so you’ll want to make a reservation as soon as possible.

Individual campsites and backcountry spots can be reserved up to 90 days in advance, while comfort sites take bookings up to 180 days prior to your trip.

If you’re into roughing it, backcountry sites can actually be reserved now, while you’ll have to wait until March 4 to make camping reservations for individual front-country spots.

Comfort camping sites will begin to take bookings on March 5.

Group camping remains closed at this time due to COVID-19 gathering restrictions.

Alberta Parks suggests making an account before reservations launch, so that you can sign in right away on the day of, and pre-planning where you want to go but staying flexible on dates. It’s also a good idea to have alternative trips in mind, just in case your dream location is full.

Make your summer camping reservations as soon as possible (after March 4), and get ready to sleep under the stars.
