Alberta Parks announces opening date for 2021 camping reservations

Feb 18 2021, 8:57 pm

Albertans love to be outdoors, especially when it involves sleeping under the stars, cooking over a campfire, and bathing in lakes.

If last summer is any indication, campsites are going to fill up quickly this year, so be sure to mark your calendar for March 4 – that’s the day Alberta Parks will open camping reservations for the season.

Individual campsites can be booked up to 90 days in advance and are staggered by region – only sites that are available within that 90-day window will be reservable on March 4.

Maybe you’re looking to add a little extra luxury to your outdoor experience, in which case reservations for comfort campsites open on March 5, and these can be booked up to 180 days in advance.

If roughing it is more your style, backcountry camping is currently open and can be reserved now for dates up to 90 days in advance.

Group camping bookings remain closed at this time due to COVID-19 gathering restrictions.

Make your camping reservations as soon as possible (after March 4), and start planning those summer adventures.
