Alberta saw 785 new COVID-19 infections in the last 24 hours, according to an update posted to the provincial government’s website Friday afternoon.

The province also recorded another 13 deaths, bringing Alberta’s COVID-19 death toll to 1,402.

“Although we’ve seen a decline in transmission, our health-care system is still at risk,” Chief Medical Health Officer Dr. Deena Hinshaw said in a tweet. “Please continue to follow current health measures this weekend and gather only with people in your household.”

Restrictions are loosening slightly on Monday, when Albertans will be allowed to gather with up to 10 people outdoors. Personal care businesses including hair salons and tattoo shops will also be allowed to reopen.

There are still 796 Albertans in hospital with COVID-19, including 124 who are in the ICU.

There are currently 12,189  active infections in the province, a number that has slowly been decreasing through the week.
