Alberta health officials have confirmed 19 new coronavirus cases.

Since the start of the pandemic, Alberta has seen 7,076 cases coronavirus cases. The majority have been found in the Calgary zone.

As of Wednesday afternoon, two new deaths were recorded. This leaves Alberta’s coronavirus death toll at 145.

Alberta has also reported more recoveries. There are now 6,587 people in the province who have cleared their coronavirus infection.

Last week, Alberta made coronavirus testing available to everyone in the province whether or not they have symptoms.

The province hopes expanded testing will allow health officials to further understand the virus’ impacts, which will inform reopening decisions.
