Tegan and Sara to headline performances for Canada Day 2017 in Calgary

In celebration of our nation’s 150th birthday, Calgary native’s Tegan and Sara will be performing at the Riverfront stage on July 1.

Mayor Naheed Nenshi made the announcement yesterday, saying “We are blessed with abundant rich talent in this city, and I am so happy to announce that on July 1, Calgary’s Canada Day headline performers are well loved Calgarians Tegan and Sara.”
Lead up acts to Canada’s indie duo include Juno nominee, Armond Duck Chief, trilingual singer and performer Crystal Plamondon, and local artist, Michael Bernard Fitzgerald.
Line up
- Armond Duck Chief – 6:15 to 7pm
- Crystal Plamondon – 7:20 to 8:20pm
- Michael Bernard Fitzgerald – 8:40 to 9:40pm
- Tegan and Sara – 10 to 11pm
Following the performances, Calgarians will have the opportunity to wish the nation a happy 150th birthday with a 30 minute world-class fireworks display staged on the Centre Street Bridge.
