Former Toronto Raptors star Vince Carter is calling it a career after 22 seasons on the court.

The 43-year-old told The Ringer’s Winging It podcast on Thursday that he is “officially done playing basketball professionally.”

Carter was drafted fifth overall in the 1998 NBA draft by the Golden State Warriors before getting traded to the Raptors on a draft-day swap. Carter played in Toronto for seven seasons before they traded the eight-time all-star to the New Jersey Nets.

Carter won the NBA rookie of the year award in 1999, and the all-star game slam dunk contest in 2000.

The Daytona Beach native recently became the first NBA player in history to play in games that span across four decades.

Nicknamed “Air Canada,” “Vincsanity,” and “Sunshine,” Carter played in 1,541 career NBA games and averaged 16.7 PPG in a career that spanned across Toronto, New Jersey, Dallas, Memphis, Phoenix, Orlando, Sacramento, and most recently, Atlanta.
