26-year-old Chilliwack, BC man dead after fatal collision in northern Alberta

A fatal collision took the life of a 26-year-old man in northern Alberta.

The man was from Chilliwack, BC, according to a release from Boyle RCMP, and had been outside of his parked vehicle checking his load when another semi-tractor collided with his at around 4:30 pm on Sunday.

The driver of the moving vehicle received minor injuries and was taken to hospital, but the Chilliwack man was pronounced dead at the scene.

The collision took place roughly 4 km south of Wandering River, which is around 230 km north of Edmonton.

The RCMP state that they will not be releasing the Chilliwack man’s name, and that the investigation is ongoing.

According to the release, conditions were clear at the time of the incident.

Traffic on Highway 63 is no longer being diverted following the collision.
