Eastern Canada is starting summer with a bang, but the country’s West Coast appears to still be stuck in June-uary.
June 20 marks the official first day of summer, and it came quick for Toronto with Environment Canada issuing a heat warning for the city. Temperatures are set to reach 30C on Saturday and Sunday, and people took to the city’s outdoor spaces to enjoy the weather.

Montreal was also under a heat warning with temperatures forecast to hit 32C on Saturday.

Temperatures were more pleasant in Alberta, with Calgary and Edmonton expecting highs of 23C to 24C under sunny skies. Calgary could be in for an afternoon thunderstorm Saturday though, according to Environment Canada.

But over in BC, the weather didn’t seem to get the memo that summer has started. Saturday morning greeted coastal residents with grey skies, rain, and temperatures around 17C.
