On February 28, Const. Vernon Hagen of the Alberta RCMP Federal Serious and Organized Crime unit was charged with two counts of Assault, and one count of Obstructing a Peace Officer, for an incident on January 28.

Hagen appeared in a North Vancouver court this week in relation to the charges.

Police said that for the duration of the case, Hagen has been “reassigned and he will not resume operational duties until the criminal charges against him are resolved.”

As the matter is now before the courts, police said will not be releasing any further information at this time.
