Join the undead this August at Zombiewalk Vancouver 2017

Jun 3 2017, 3:29 am

Get out your favourite fake blood recipe and select some creepy clothing options, the Vancouver Zombiewalk is coming back to town on Saturday, August 26.

The ghoulish stroll around downtown is the city’s largest annual flashmob. Organizers say the Zombiewalk grows larger every year, and costumes continue to get gorier and grosser.

Terrifying.

There are some guidelines for this zombie parade:

  • Don’t be a jerk and vandalize things – there will be police on scene to deal with vandals.
  • Put on your best zombie face, since there will be tons of people out taking photos of the spectacle.
  • Respect the police.
  • Be compassionate towards children – if they seem scared, don’t add to their stress.
  • Help clean up afterwards.
  • Ham it up for the cameras –After a while, you’re human brain may return and you’ll find yourself walking like a normal person, chitchatting, and checking Facebook. Don’t forget that you’re surrounded by smiling spectators and the press, all snapping photos of zombies.

The undead will meet at the Vancouver Art Gallery at 3 pm before limping along Robson Street down to Denman and up to English Bay. The terrifying walk itself starts at 4 pm.

This year, organizers need help making the Zombiewalk an official permitted event with the City of Vancouver.

Donations are needed for traffic control, staff, advertising, and communications. Visit their fundraising page to help make this year’s Zombiewalk the most epic one to date.
