The annual ATRS Global Airport Benchmarking Report indicates that a rising Canadian dollar has hurt YVR airports efficiency rating among North American airports, however it still remains the top-performing airport in Canada, by a wide margin. Vancouver International Airport is also the sixth best performing airport in North America.
The report considers several factors in determining operating efficiency, including productivity, cost competitiveness and airport user charges.
Montreal and Toronto both came in around 65th place among the 77 North American airports examined in the study.
For the 10th year in a row Atlanta International Airport was the world’s most efficient airport.
The report studied 195 airports and 26 airport groups in North America, Europe, Oceania and Asia.
