Youth Transforming Society is giving high school and university students a chance to find and grow their passion (and resume!) through volunteering.
The local, non-profit organization is hosting their fifth annual Volunteering and Beyond Event.
Taking place on Wednesday, September 19, the massive volunteer fair takes place at the Tamanawis Secondary School in Surrey from 5:30 to 7:30 pm.
The free-to-attend event features more than 50 different organizations in a handful of different sectors.
Students will have a chance to learn about different organizations and initiatives that relate to their own passions and interests. If they find something that speaks to them, they can register to volunteer for the organization at the event.
The end goal is that after attending Volunteering and Beyond, students will feel less overwhelmed and more inspired to volunteer. Not only is the experience a great way to discover and figure out what your passion is, but it looks great on a resume too.
Notable attendees to the event include the Canuck Place, the Cerebral Palsy Association of BC, the Justice Education Society, the Leaders of Today Society, and the Prostate Cancer Foundation of BC.
