Young man dies after Abbotsford pedestrian accident

A 19-year-old man has died after being struck by a vehicle in Abbotsford.

Abbotsford Police report the fatal accident between a vehicle and pedestrian occurred at 9:40 p.m. on Thursday, April 30 at the intersection of McCallum and Marshall Road. Upon arriving at the scene, they found the 19-year-old victim on the ground with serious injuries. He was rushed to hospital immediately.

The driver of the vehicle, a 20-year-old man, was not injured and cooperated with police at the scene.

At 2:15 a.m. on Friday, May 1, police report the young victim died in hospital. In a news release, Abbotsford Police offered their condolences to the family and friends of the man.

The police investigation is underway, and authorities ask any witnesses to contact Abbotsford Police at 604-859-5225.
