There’s a revolutionary new clothing product hitting the market this month, and it’s going to make travel a whole lot easier during the busy holiday season. Designed with the frequent traveler in mind, the BauBax travel jacket couldn’t arrive at a better time for Vancouverites wanting to stay warm and comfortable during their everyday commute and while flying the skies.
The BauBax travel jacket is an all-in-one jacket with 15 different features built into it. The jacket includes essentials like a neck pillow, eye mask and passport pocket. Some of the more unique (but equally useful) features include a drink pocket, built-in gloves, folded up blanket and iPad pocket.
The jacket’s price starts at $160 and comes in four different styles for both men and women, allowing it to be used beyond the airport.
Married couple Yoganshi and Hiral Sanghavi came up with the jacket design concept after having spent one too many dollars on airplane pillows during their travels. With Hiral’s business knowledge and Yoganshi’s expertise in user experience design, the couple created the multipurpose product they dubbed “the world’s best travel jacket.”
They launched their Kickstarter campaign in July 2015, with the hopes of raising $20,000 in order to produce their product. At the time of publication, the project has raised over $9 million, making it the most funded clothing project in Kickstarter history. With the jacket being the first of its kind on the market, its popularity is to be expected, with Hiral confirming that, “right now, we are filling a very, very strong gap.”
With all of the extra cash they’ve raised, the Sanghavis plan to expand their business to include technology-advanced apparel, with temperature-controlled clothing being next on the list.
