Last year it was the Cronut. This year, the newest trend in sweet treats is the “Wonut” – half wafffle, half donut, and all delicious.
We first told you about the Cronut taking over New York City and asked for someone to bring the concept to Vancouver. Swiss Bakery answered the call, with their own version of the Cronut, called the Frissant.
Right now the wonut can be found at the Waffles Café in Chicago. Wonuts are deep-fried, then dipped in sugar, marshmallow, maple or chocolate glazes and topped with pretty much any of the regular toppings you see on donuts.
Someone needs to bring this concept to Vancouver. We’re looking at you, Swiss Bakery. Please!
