22-year-old woman struck and killed by bus in Burnaby

A 22-year-old woman is dead after she was struck and killed by a bus in Burnaby on Thursday night.

According to police, the incident took place at approximately 7 pm, when officers responded to a report of a collision involving a transit bus and a pedestrian, in the intersection of 16th Avenue and 6th Street.

The woman, a Burnaby resident as well, was pronounced deceased at the scene.

While they note it is still early in the investigation, Burnaby RCMP said that neither speed nor alcohol appears to be a factor in the collision.
