A woman was stabbed last night at approximately 9:30 p.m. while walking from Waterfront Station to Gastown.

The 48-year-old woman was followed from SkyTrain to Water Street, where a female suspect stabbed her and attempted to snatch her purse and shopping bag.

Nothing was stolen and the suspect fled back to the SkyTrain station.

Vancouver Police Department Constable Brian Montague told Vancity Buzz that the victim was taken to hospital and has since been released. No arrests have been made, but officers have obtained video of the incident and will be attempting to identify the suspect.
