A 30-year-old woman and two young girls have been killed in a multiple vehicle crash on Lougheed Highway on Friday night.

In a release, Coquitlam RCMP said they responded to the collision just before 6:20 pm, just north of Pitt River Road.

Three vehicles were involved, said the release. The woman killed was in one vehicle while the two girls, aged three and nine, were in another.

According to the release there were another five occupants in the cars, and many of them were taken to hospital with “varying levels of injury.”

The Coordinated Collision Investigation Team along with ICARS is investigating, but does not believe impairment was a factor in the crash.
