Vancouver Police are looking for witnesses of an early morning assault on a 32-year-old woman on the Granville Street Bridge.

According to a VPD release, the attack took place at around 3 am on Sunday morning. A 32-year-old woman was walking south on the east sidewalk over the Granville Street Bridge when she noticed a man looking over the railing. After she passed him, the man ran in front of her and punched her several times in the face.

The woman screamed and her attacker fled, and he was last seen running southbound off the bridge.

A concerned taxi driver stopped after the suspect had fled and contacted police. The victim received minor injuries and did not require immediate medical treatment.

The suspect was described as white, in his 30s, clean-cut with short, brown hair, stubble on his face, and wearing a dark-coloured suit.

Anyone who may have seen the suspect in the area is asked to contact the Vancouver Police at 604-717-2541 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
