Have you heard of floating?
People all across North America are opening centres and starting to float as a way to disconnect from the constant demands on our mind, body and senses. The benefits and experiences from floating can range from increasing creativity to deepening meditation, refreshing the mind and helping to heal the body, relieving anxiety and reducing stress.
It’s an incredible practice that involves lying down into the water of a float tank, pod or cabin without any light, sound or sensory input whatsoever. The water itself is filled with dissolved Epsom salts that allow you to float, helping to enhance your experience.
The practice is quickly gaining popularity and people across the globe are taking to social media to share their experiences using the hashtag #WhyWeFloat.
#WhyWeFloat is a campaign to share the personal and powerful stories of the thousands of people around the world who float. Use the hashtag to tell your story, promote floating and enter to win a trip for two to Kauai, Hawaii.

There are so many reasons why floating at the @float_house has been one of the best decisions I've ever made for my health, sense of well being, and productivity. One of my favourite reasons is getting to share the experience with my wife. We each go into identical tanks but come out with vastly different experiences. By sharing our floating stories, we get to learn more about each other and all the fascinating revelations that can happen to a person when they surrender to nothingness. #WhyWeFloat
