West Vancouver Police investigate alleged assault between pedestrian and car driver

West Vancouver Police are seeking additional witnesses investigating an assault over the weekend.

Police were called to a parking area in the 800 block of Marine Drive just before 8:30 p.m. on Saturday evening.

Police were advised a confrontation broke out between the driver of a vehicle and a pedestrian over the way the vehicle had approached a pedestrian crossing.

Witnesses advised a male pedestrian spat on the vehicle and the driver stepped out of the vehicle. The pedestrian is alleged to have run at the driver, struck him in the face, and then kicked the driver several times after the driver fell to the ground.

Several witnesses were identified and spoken to at the scene. Investigators are working to identify the male pedestrian, who left prior to police attendance in a newer model black compact sedan. The male is described as Caucasian, 175cm (5’10”) and approximately 100kg (220lbs, wearing a black jacket, tank top and jeans.
