Where to watch Super Bowl 50 in Vancouver

On February 7, the NFL Super Bowl, celebrating its 50th anniversary, will take place at the Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California. While that might be a tad too far to travel for most Vancouverites, there are plenty of pubs and bars at home screening the final match between the Carolina Panthers and the Denver Broncos, with many venues offerings drink specials, giveaways, and pre-game tailgate parties.

The Lamplighter Pub

Gastown’s Lamplighter Pub will be throwing a mega Super Bowl party on February 7. The day will start with a special Super Bowl Pre-Game Happy Hour, from Noon to 3 p.m. The pub’s BBQ will be cranking, cooking up all-you-can-eat burgers for $30.

Malone’s Bar & Grill

This downtown sports-friendly bar is excited to screen the Super Bowl, with sound. To assure a good seat football fans should try and turn up to Malone’s around 2:30 p.m. Alternatively, people can call ahead to reserve a table. The sports bar hopes to encourage patrons to play games at halftime, for the chance to win a range of different prizes.

Village Taphouse is a fantastic spot to watch the Super Bowl, particularly if you’re looking for a jovial atmosphere. Not only will the West Van watering hole play the game on their 17 screens, but they are also planning on cooking a pig on the patio and giving away NFL Jerseys and a Flat Screen TV.

Not normally open during the day, The Portside Pub will be swinging back their doors at midday on February 7, for the Super Bowl 50. There will be a range of food and drink specials all day/night, door prizes and giveaways, Jim Beam and Lighthouse Brewing sampling, and DJ’s Nick Bike and Stuntman Greg post-game. Timber

Terry and Deaner (Timber’s official mascots) are hosting a Super Bowl Table Campout at Timber on Sunday February 7. They’re filling the Coleman Cooler with Old Style Pilsner cans and the cans will go for $5 each, until they’re gone. Townsite Brewing is letting the Robson Street locale tap two kegs of their sessionable Suncoast Pale Ale (that gem never leaves the Sunshine Coast). Chef Chris Whittaker is bringing in a pig and he’ll be making up pig-focused features, like pulled pork and potato skin nachos. Timber will also host a meat draw.
