Walk In Her Shoes Challenge Vancouver aims to support women in developing countries

Feb 23 2017, 6:35 am

Join Vancouverites on March 5 for a walk to support women and girls in developing countries.

CARE is hosting Walk In Her Shoes at Creekside. The goal of the event is for participants to walk 10,000 steps. In many developing countries, women and girls walk 10,000 steps every day to access basic essentials for their family. This leaves little time for them to pursue an education or find a job.

Walk In Her Shoes encourages community members to take 10,000 steps in solidarity with the women and girls in developing countries who have to make the journey every day.

The walk begins at Creekside Community Centre, and there will be plenty of family-friendly activities on site. Then, get ready to walk to empower women and girls around the world.
