Nothing prepares you for the work day ahead like a good old fashioned dance party, and Wake n Shake Vancouver has you covered.
The Wake n Shake: Pre-Work Dance party was started by a group of local professionals as a way to support the health and well-being of Vancouver’s workforce.
Starting with a 6:15 a.m. yoga class, the event will also feature a live DJ, musical performers, coffee, tea and healthy snacks like fruit, granola and smoothies – all before you even step foot in the office.
A naturopath and registered massage therapist will also be on site, answering questions about health, and giving out free five-minute massages.
Inspired by similar events around the world, organizer Cole Nakatani thought the event would be good for Vancouver’s young workforce.
“I attended Daybreaker’s pre-work dance party last year in New York,” he said in a release. “I had so much energy after the event and couldn’t help but think about how much more productive I would be at work if this was available in Vancouver.”
One third of proceeds from the event will go to charities and non-profits that supporting the health and well-being of young professionals in Vancouver, including the BC Chapter of the Canadian Mental Health Association. The event isn’t just about dancing, it’s about supporting the whole health and well-being of people in our community.
