Vancouver's newest sport combines wake boarding and pony rides (VIDEO)

Move over hockey, there’s a new sport in town – that combines pony rides and wakeboarding.

Tasha Maynard and her brother-in-law, Jordan, came up with the idea when it was pouring rain in Vancouver last weekend.

They were at Southlands Riding Club with their pony Bailey. They attached a wakeboard to Bailey saddle and “Ditch Boarding” was born.

“When it pours and the pump fails and the ditches overflow onto the road we thought it would be the perfect opportunity to have some fun! We have named this new equestrian team sport “Ditch Boarding,”  they said on YouTube.

Next time it rains, we know what we want to try.
