Police seize $4.5 million worth of drugs from SUV in East Vancouver

The Vancouver Police have seized drugs with a street value of more than $4.5 million after a traffic stop in East Vancouver.

The seizure took place on December 6 at about 7:30 pm when two officers stopped an SUV carrying two men. The officers observed behaviour that they considered to be suspicious and subsequently found 4 kg of cocaine.

The vehicle was towed and police obtained a warrant to continue searching for additional evidence.

Upon a further search of the vehicle, an additional 52 kg of the suspected drug was discovered.

According to VPD, two men, one in his 20s and the other in his 30s, have been released pending further investigation and lab results on the contents of alleged drugs found in the vehicle.

Criminal charges related to the possession of drugs for the purpose of trafficking are expected to be recommended.

VPD estimates the drugs are worth about $3 million with a street value of approximately $4.5 million.
