On June 3, the YWCA Women of Distinction Awards will continue its tradition of honouring and recognizing outstanding women and workplaces since 1984.

One of Vancity Buzz’s very own contributors, Jen Schaeffers, is a finalist this year in the community building category. Check out more about why Jen was nominated.

We’re throwing our support behind Jen for an award category that is determined by vote – the Connecting the Community award. From April 30 to May 23, 2014, the public can cast their votes. The nominee with the most votes will be awarded the Connecting the Community Award and Scotiabank will donate $10,000 to her chosen YWCA program area. The Connecting the Community Award is a charitable donation to a YWCA service area that greatly needs financial support.

Jen has selected to allocate $10,000 toward reducing child poverty if she wins. We need your help! Click the link below and vote for Jen Schaeffers.
