The 11th Annual West Coast Christmas Show and Artisan Marketplace

West Coast Christmas Show

Artisan Christmas decorations, locally made in British Columbia.

What: Entering its 11th annual year and taking place at Tradex in Abbotsford, the event is the home of Christmas Shopping and the perfect place to find all your presents. With over 250 exhibits and 140 artisans, guests are able to find the staple goods you’d hope to find at a Christmas market, whether that be original art, crafts, woodwork, ceramics, candles, and soap.

When: Friday, November 16 to Sunday, November 18, 2018
Time: Friday from 2 to 9 pm; Saturday from 10 to 6 pm; Sunday from 10 to 5 pm
Where: TRADEX in Abbotsford – 190 Cornell St, Abbotsford
Admission: $10 for adults and $9 for seniors, visitors can save $1 by purchasing tickets online.

Lights of Hope 2018 Fireworks & Display Launch

What: St. Paul’s Foundation will mark the launch of its seasonal hospital lights display with a free event at the intersection of Burrard Street and Helmcken Street that includes a fireworks display from the hospital rooftop. There will also be food trucks and carollers to add to the festivities. Each year, the foundation’s Lights of Hope campaign raises millions of dollars for the hospital’s most immediate patient care and equipment needs. In 2017, the campaign raised a staggering $3.1 million for these initiatives.

The Harpoonist and The Axe Murderer

Deer Lake Craft Festival

What: The 46th annual event will feature more than 60 artisans, all of whom have been juried into the show and selected for their high-quality handcrafted creations. Glass blowers, sculptors, potters, fashion and jewellery designers, woodworkers and more will be among those assembled for the show. Visitors will also be able to choose from a wide selection of foodstuffs – chocolate, spices, Christmas cakes, cookies, jams and jellies, chutneys and designer honey, to name a few.

Hawkers Market: With Special Guests Stones Throw Records

What: Described as the “ultimate local food and indie music festival,” the market will feature over 50 Hawker food experiences including dishes from award-winning chefs like Alex Chen (Boulevard Kitchen & Oyster Bar) and Eva Chin (Royal Dinette). For music, market attendees can listen to the stellar sounds of Peanut Butter Wolf (founder and head of Stones Throw Records) and J Rocc (one of the original turntablists who founded the Beat Junkies in 92).
