Vancouver’s iconic VanDusen Botanical Garden celebrates 40 years of spectacular botanical displays on Sunday, August 16, and you’re invited to take part in the day-long event.
For a retro rate of just $2, guests can take in the beauty of the gardens, as well as learn more about the history, enjoy live musical performances, and participate in family fun activities.
The gardens are open from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. and there’s a whole bevy of activities waiting for guests. The day starts with Pioneer’s tea where the garden’s founders will tell stories of the VanDusen’s beginnings and history. Next will be speeches and cake cutting, and live music performances will be happening throughout the day.
Adults can visit Long Table Distillery in the Visitor Centre halls to learn about the botany of gin and sample spirits that have been distilled with VanDusen botanicals.
And for the kids, there will be magicians, face painting, stilt walking and more.
Enjoy BBQ hotdogs, ice cream and cold beverages for sale, as well as free cake and popcorn while supplies last. On site food vendors include Berry Mobile and Petit Puf.
