Vancouver Social Games (VSG), A Thinking Ape (ATA), and EXP Bar are hosting an open job fair for anyone looking for work in the social gaming industry.

Last year, amidst industry layoffs, the Vancouver tech community came together to host an impromptu pop-up job fair to support those affected by studio closures. After the success of the sold-out event, the community is uniting once again.

“We want to make Hiring Happy Hour an annual event,” says Tayber Voyer, founder of VSG. “Last year we had more than 300 people under one roof, connecting with companies and finding work. We knew we had to do it again.”

To date, participating studios include East Side Games, DeNA, LDRLY, Kabam Vancouver, Roadhouse Interactive, Relic Entertainment, GREE Canada, Piranha Games, Fathom Interactive, and Hothead Games.

Sonia Ryan, from A Thinking Ape, recommends applicants come prepared. “These companies are looking for the best talent in the city. There are some fantastic opportunities here if you’re willing to get engaged. Do a little research, find out what games these companies make, and what excites you about their products. A little informed enthusiasm can go a long way.”

Interested candidates can RSVP at:

Date: Tuesday, April 8th
Time: 1:30pm – 4:30pm
