On Friday, September 20 and Saturday, September 21, Saturday Robson Square will play host to a world record attempt at the longest ever game of table hockey, with proceeds going towards Canuck Place Children’s Hospice and Five Hole For Food.
Presented by our friends at the Pucked in the Head blog, the event will attempt to breach the 30-hour mark of continuous play, starting from 1 p.m. on Friday and going all the way to 7 p.m. on Saturday.
Just like any big hockey event, celebrity anthem singer Marie Hui will sing O Canada on Friday afternoon.
Want to be a part of the action?
You can register online for $25 to be a part of the public tournament starting on Saturday at 1 p.m. After that, playoffs will begin for prizes at 4 p.m., and the champion will be crowned at 7 p.m. While all registrants get to take home goodie bags and are promised five chances to play, the winner gets to take home a Stiga table hockey game signed by Kevin Bieksa and 11 other Canucks players. Don’t forget to bring cash to donate, or non-perishable food items, benefitting Canuck Place and Five Hole For Food!
