Now in its third year running, the Burnaby Youth Sustainability Network’s (BYSN) clothing swap makes it easy to trade in your old clothes for a spiffy new set.

The event works like this: get your $8 ticket online, bring a minimum of 10 (clean!) clothing items to the event, wait while the volunteers sort through all the clothes to make sure they’re not dirty or defective, then head back in and take as many bags of clothing home as you can carry. Any clothes not sold by the end of the event will be donated to Big Brothers Canada.

“For only $8, you can get an entirely new wardrobe – I think that’s something really exciting for anyone in Vancouver,” said BYSN chair Sonya Kung. “This type of lifestyle is very much stylish and fashionable. Clothing swaps are not only a financial benefit, but they are an environmental benefit because they are sustainable.”

In addition to clothing, the team will also happily accept books, CDs, DVDs, jewelry, sunglasses, belts, scarves, and hats, but these items won’t count towards your 10-item minimum.

Get your tickets here.
