There are so many amazing restaurants, bars, and breweries in and around Vancouver that are opening soon – here are the most highly-anticipated restaurant openings on their way to our city.

Purebread – Mount Pleasant

The new space is located at 5th and Ontario Street, and it will be coming at us “sometime soon.” Purebread, an institution for baked goods and over the top stacks of treats in both Vancouver and Whistler, posted a construction photo on March 15 confirming they are in the process of creating a new bakery.

Uncle Tetsu’s Metrotown

Metro Vancouver has been waiting to get its own Uncle Tetsu since the Japanese-dessert chain first touched down in Toronto in 2015. The much-loved purveyor will be opening their first BC location in Metropolis at Metrotown shopping centre “soon.”

Small Victory – South Granville

Beloved Yaletown coffee and treat spot Small Victory has announced via Instagram that they are opening a second location. The new spot will be in South Granville, an area that is definitely in need of some more grab-and-go food options, and will live at 3070 Granville Street to be exact.

Zaatar W Zeit

Lebanese mega-chain Zaatar W Zeit is opening their first Canadian location in Vancouver. The eatery was set to open late 2017 or early 2018 but has now pushed its opening to Spring 2018 due to permits.

Soft Peaks – Burnaby

Soft Peaks has rebranded for this spot, so expect a new look along with their signature menu of soft-serve creations, milkshakes, frozen bars, and hot chocolates. Expect this spot to open soon.

Earls Ambleside Beach


Earls Ambleside Beach is opening in early-May. Located in a Grosvenor development on the Ambleside seawall, this particular location for the chain has been teased as a fresh new restaurant concept that will be “the first of its kind in Canada.”

Forêt Noire

Foret Noire Patisserie opening in Vancouver

The 2,000 sq. ft. space, located at 236 West Broadway, is set to open in June 2018, tentatively, and if the renderings are to be believed, is going to be a big addition to the sweet scene in Mount Pleasant by bringing their traditional French pastries and sweets.

We’ve been patiently waiting for Mount Pleasant’s highly-anticipated new brewery, Electric Bicycle Brewing, to open its doors, and the time has almost come. This new brewery promises to bring “a completely different experience to the Vancouver brew scene,” along with strange beer made with exotic ingredients, great music, and delicious eats.

Popina Canteen, a brand new concept from four renowned Vancouver chefs, is set to open this spring on Granville Island. The all-star culinary team behind this gourmet counter-service restaurant is comprised of Angus An, Robert Belcham, Hamid Salimian, and Joël Watanabe.
