3 in custody, 1 still on the loose following Vancouver pot shop robbery

Vancouver Police say they’ve arrested three men in connection with the robbery of a pot shop on East 41st Avenue, but one woman involved is still on the loose.

The robbery happened on October 16 just before 9 pm. Four people stormed the Stressed and Depressed marijuana store armed with guns and took off with cash and products. A staff member was assaulted during the robbery.

This past Saturday, three search warrants were executed at two homes in Surrey and one in Delta with the help of the Surrey RCMP and the Delta Police Department.

Now the following people have been charged:

Darnel Matsui, 28, from Medicine Hat

He’s charged with:

  • Robbery with violence (firearm)
  • Pointing a firearm
  • Uttering threats
  • Using a firearm during the commission of an indictable offence
  • Unauthorized possession of a firearm

Hosea Smith, 26, from Calgary

He’s charged with:

  • Robbery with violence (firearm)
  • Assault

Cory Robert Ulmer Brown, 20, from Surrey

He’s charged with:

  • Robbery with violence (firearm)
  • Pointing a firearm
  • Using a firearm during the commission of an indictable offence
  • Unauthorized possession of a firearm
