Vancouver Police are asking for the public’s help in locating a 51 year old Burnaby man wanted Canada-wide for fraud.

Hong Dong is believed to have found his victims from the Lower Mainland and Greater Toronto area when they placed advertisements on Chinese websites looking for someone to exchange money. He is now wanted for five counts of fraud over $5,000 in relation to a series of fraudulent currency exchanges.

The public is reminded to be cautious when making money exchanges with individuals they do not know or meet online.

Attempts by police to locate and arrest Mr. Dong have been unsuccessful and investigators believe he may have fled the country. Anyone with information regarding Hong Dong or his whereabouts is asked to contact the Vancouver Police at (604) 717-3459 or Crime Stoppers at 1 (800) 222-8477.
